Bahamas to ease restrictions for international travelers

Bahamas Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis announced that starting May 1, international travelers who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will not need to receive a RT-PCR test before entering the country.

In addition, Minnis announced that indoor dining and culture activities will resume for those who have been fully vaccinated. The curfew on Abaco will be shortened from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Pilots interested in flying to destinations in the Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexico, or Central and South America can learn about travel restrictions on the CST Flight Services website.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also provides recommendations for fully vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals to follow when traveling internationally and upon return to the United States. The CDC still requires vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals traveling from international destinations, including the Bahamas, "to have a negative COVID-19 viral test result no more than 3 days before travel or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 in the past 3 months before they board a flight to the United States."
