TU’s Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon advances to ‘American Idol’ top 14

Harmon gives “unstoppable,” “spiritual” performance with Broadway star Cynthia Erivo

In night two of the “all-star duets” week ofAmerican Idol, Towson University voice performance major Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon performed Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time” with Cynthia Erivo.

The performance earned Harmon a spot as one of the reality series’ top 14 contestants. His fate now rests in viewers hands as he returns to Los Angeles for the live voting portion of the season.

“It was like your guys’ souls were singing to each other,” said Katy Perry of the duet. “It was a spiritual moment for me.”

“There’s just something very special about him,” said Erivo, a Grammy, Tony and Emmy award winner, after singing with Harmon. “He has a voice that is unstoppable. And he’s got the most incredible heart. Those things combined are going to take him wherever he wants to go.”

Beginning Sunday, it’s up to the viewers which contestants advance to the next round. Watch Harmon perform live in Los Angeles on April 14, then tune in on Monday, April 15 to find out who will make it into the top 10.

Voting will open at the top of the show, on Sunday, April 14 at 8 p.m. EST, and will close the following morning, Monday, April 15 at 9 a.m. EST. Vote online at AmericanIdol.com/vote, in the American Idol app or via text. You can vote 10 times per contestant, per method.
